ORC1 Antibody (TK 1/2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ORC1 protein of x origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ORC1 antibody (TK 1/2) plays a pivotal role in the initiation of DNA replication, a complex process essential for cell division and proliferation. ORC1 (TK 1/2) antibody recognizes a key component of the origin recognition complex (ORC), which binds to specific origins of replication in the genome, serving as a scaffold for the assembly of additional initiation factors necessary for pre-replication complex formation. These complexes are crucial for proper timing and regulation of DNA replication, ensuring genetic material is accurately duplicated before cell division. ORC1 protein, along with interacting partners ORC2, ORC3, ORC4, ORC5, and ORC6, is predominantly located in the nucleus of proliferating cells, including tissues such as testis. While ORC1 and ORC2 are expressed at similar levels throughout the cell cycle, only ORC2 remains stably associated with chromatin, highlighting the dynamic nature of these proteins during G1-S transition. Continuous expression of ORC4 and ORC6 throughout the cell cycle further underscores ORC complex importance in maintaining genomic stability and facilitating timely progression of DNA replication.
