    SEE ALSO...

OR4B1 Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects OR4B1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). OR4B1 (C-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. OR4B1, also known as Olfactory receptor 4B1 or Olfactory receptor OR11-106, is a 309 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in the olfactory system by functioning as an odorant receptor. Located in the cilia of olfactory sensory neurons, OR4B1 binds to a diverse array of odor molecules, initiating a signal transduction cascade that results in the production of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) through an olfactory-enriched adenylate cyclase. This process is vital for the transmission of action potentials to the brain, ultimately leading to the perception of smell. The genes encoding olfactory receptors, including OR4B1, represent the largest family in the human genome, highlighting their importance in sensory perception and environmental interaction.
