OPG Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects OPG protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-OPG antibody (E-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. OPG (E-10) antibody targets a protein that plays a crucial role in bone metabolism, primarily by inhibiting osteoclastogenesis, which is essential for maintaining bone density and preventing excessive bone resorption. As a secreted glycoprotein and member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor family, OPG acts as a decoy receptor for osteoclast differentiation factor (also known as RANKL), thereby preventing its interaction with RANK on osteoclast progenitor cells. This inhibition is vital for regulating bone remodeling, as an imbalance in osteoclast activity can lead to conditions such as osteoporosis.
