SEE ALSO...

Op18 Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Op18 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Op18 antibody (E-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Op18, also known as oncoprotein 18, stathmin, prosolin, or metablastin, is a highly conserved, tubulin-associated intracellular phosphoprotein that plays a pivotal role in regulating microtubule dynamics. Op18′s ability to modulate microtubule stability is crucial for proper cell division and differentiation, making Op18 an essential player in various cellular processes. Notably, Op18 undergoes multiple post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, which can significantly influence activity and interactions with other proteins. Such regulation is particularly important in cancer, as aberrant expression and modification of Op18 have been linked to various malignancies, including breast carcinomas and acute leukemias. Op18′s presence in these cancers underscores potential as a biomarker and therapeutic target, highlighting the importance of understanding Op18 function and regulation in both normal and pathological states.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with Op18 (E-3): sc-55531 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
