Op18 Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Op18, along with other stathmin family members such as stathmin-like protein RB3 and SCG10-like protein, in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Op18 (A-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Op18, also known as oncoprotein 18, stathmin, prosolin, or metablastin, is a highly conserved, tubulin-associated intracellular phosphoprotein that plays a pivotal role in regulating microtubule dynamics. Op18 (A-4) monoclonal antibody functions by modulating the stability and organization of microtubules, which are essential for various cellular processes, including mitosis and intracellular transport. Op18 exists in multiple phosphorylated forms and is expressed as two distinct isoforms, with activity being tightly regulated by phosphorylation events. Notably, Op18 is downregulated by the tumor suppressor protein p53, linking Op18 to critical cell signaling pathways that influence cell proliferation and differentiation.
