    SEE ALSO...

Odin Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Odin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Odin antibody (F-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Odin protein, also known as ANKS1A, consists of 1,134 amino acids and plays a crucial role in cellular signaling, particularly in regulating growth factor receptor pathways. Odin (F-9) antibody recognizes a protein that acts as a negative regulator of these pathways, influencing cell proliferation and differentiation. Odin undergoes phosphorylation on tyrosine residues in response to growth factors such as epidermal growth factor (EGF) and platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), but does not respond to cytokines like interleukin-3 or erythropoietin. Odin protein is primarily located in the cytoplasm, both before and after growth factor treatment, and is widely expressed across various tissues. Structurally, Odin contains six ankyrin repeats, one phosphotyrosine-binding domain, and two sterile alpha motif domains, which are essential for interactions and regulatory functions. Odin protein has been shown to inhibit EGF-induced activation of the FOS promoter when overexpressed, highlighting a role in modulating signaling pathways. ANKS1A gene encoding Odin is located on chromosome 6p21.31, underscoring genetic significance in cellular processes.
