OAS3 Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects OAS3 protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). OAS3 (D-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The 2′-5′-oligoadenylate synthetase (OAS) family, which includes OAS3, is crucial for the cellular response to viral infections, as these proteins are induced by interferons and play a vital role in the antiviral defense mechanism. OAS3, also known as p100, is characterized by three adjacent OAS1-like domains and is located on human chromosome 12q24.2. OAS3 functions by converting ATP into 2′-5′-linked oligomers of adenosine in the presence of double-stranded RNA and magnesium ions, thereby inhibiting cellular protein synthesis and promoting apoptosis in infected cells. OAS3 enzymatic activity can be inhibited by metal ions such as copper, iron, and zinc, while manganese ions can serve as a substitute for magnesium, highlighting the importance of metal ion availability in regulating OAS activity. The OAS family, including OAS3, is essential for enhancing resistance to viral infections, making OAS3 a significant target for research in virology and therapeutic development.
