OA1 Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects OA1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). OA1 (C-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. OA1, also known as GPR143, is a multi-pass membrane protein primarily located in melanosomes within pigment cells, where OA1 plays a crucial role in regulating melanin synthesis. This localization directly impacts skin, hair, and eye pigmentation, and defects in the gene encoding OA1 can lead to ocular albinism, an X-linked disorder characterized by retinal hypopigmentation and visual impairment. OA1 mediates intracellular signaling in response to various stimuli, highlighting OA1′s importance in cellular communication and normal pigmentation processes.
