SEE ALSO...

Nup88 Antibody (H-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Nup88 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Nup88 (H-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Nup88, a 741 amino acid nucleoporin, plays a critical role in the nuclear pore complex (NPC), which is essential for regulating the transport of macromolecules between the nucleus and cytoplasm in eukaryotic cells. The NPC is composed of over 100 different subunits, many of which are nucleoporins characterized by O-linked-N-acetylglucosamine modifications and a unique pentapeptide repeat (XFXFG). Nup88 is not only ubiquitously expressed but also undergoes phosphorylation by ATM or ATR, which is significant for its function in cellular signaling pathways. Nup88 has been found to be upregulated in various malignant neoplasms and precancerous dysplasias, indicating potential involvement in tumorigenesis. The gene encoding Nup88 is located on human chromosome 17, a region that encompasses more than 2.5% of the human genome and contains over 1,200 genes, highlighting the complexity and importance of this protein in cellular processes.
