NUDC Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects NUDC protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NUDC (C-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NUDC, or nuclear distribution gene C homolog, is a highly conserved protein that plays a critical role in cellular processes such as neurogenesis, mitosis, nuclear migration, and cytokinesis. NUDC protein is predominantly located in the cytoplasm and nucleus, where NUDC is essential for proper mitotic spindle formation and chromosome separation during cell division. Notably, NUDC protein undergoes phosphorylation by Polo-like kinase (Plk) at the onset of mitosis, a post-translational modification that is crucial for its function in facilitating accurate cell division and proliferation. Furthermore, in neuronal and fibroblast cells, NUDC protein interacts with LIS1, forming a complex that is vital for the organization of the microtubule network and the transport of nuclei in migrating neurons. This interaction is significant as NUDC also associates with the Dynein/Dynactin motor complex, highlighting the collaborative role of these proteins in regulating cytokinesis and ensuring proper cellular function.

Can NUDC (C-3): sc-365782 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. Yes, NUDC (C-3): sc-365782 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
