SEE ALSO...

Nucleostemin Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects Nucleostemin in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Nucleostemin, also known as Nucleolar GTP-binding protein 3, plays a crucial role in the regulation of cell proliferation, particularly in stem cells, where anti-Nucleostemin antibody (A-8) shows predominant expression in the nucleoli of adult central nervous system stem cells, primitive bone marrow cells, and embryonic stem cells, as well as in several cancer cell lines. Nucleostemin is essential for maintaining the proliferative capacity of stem cells, as overexpression or depletion can significantly impact cell growth. Nucleostemin shuttles between the nucleus and the nucleolus, highlighting a dynamic role in cellular processes. Notably, the gene encoding Nucleostemin is located on chromosome 3p21.1, and involvement in the growth regulation of various cancers, including liver and gastric cancer, underscores importance in cancer biology. Nucleostemin′s interaction with specific proteins involved in cell cycle regulation further emphasizes significance in both normal and pathological states, making Nucleostemin (A-8) antibody a valuable tool for researchers studying stem cell biology and cancer.

Can Nucleostemin (A-8): sc-166430 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. Yes, Nucleostemin (A-8): sc-166430 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
