NTE Antibody (G-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NTE protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NTE Antibody (G-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Neuropathy target esterase (NTE) plays a crucial role in neural development, functioning as an integral membrane protein found in all neurons and certain non-neural cell types across vertebrates. NTE′s ability to hydrolyze esters is vital for cell-signaling pathways that govern interactions between neurons and glial cells, which are essential for proper nervous system development. NTE is susceptible to modification by organophosphates, which can lead to neuropathy characterized by axonal degeneration in humans. Loss of NTE function can result in significant neuronal pathology, particularly in the thalamus and hippocampus, and may also contribute to defects in the cerebellum, underscoring NTE′s importance in maintaining neural integrity and function.
