NTAL Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects NTAL in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NTAL, also known as the non-T cell activation linker, is a crucial transmembrane adaptor protein that plays a significant role in the immune response by facilitating signaling pathways in B cells, natural killer (NK) cells, and myeloid cells. NTAL is primarily located in membrane microdomains, or lipid rafts, which are essential for the clustering of signaling molecules during immune activation. NTAL presence in these microdomains allows for rapid tyrosine phosphorylation upon cross-linking of the B cell receptor or high-affinity Fc receptors, leading to the recruitment of downstream signaling partners vital for effective immune responses. NTAL is highly expressed in the spleen and lymph node germinal centers, as well as in peripheral blood lymphocytes, highlighting NTAL′s importance in lymphocyte activation and proliferation. Defects in the NTAL gene are associated with Williams-Beuren syndrome, a rare developmental disorder characterized by musculoskeletal and cardiovascular abnormalities, underscoring NTAL′s critical role in both immune function and developmental processes.
