NRAGE Antibody (AK47) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects NRAGE protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-NRAGE antibody (AK47) is available as the non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. NRAGE protein, a member of the neurotrophin receptor-interacting MAGE homolog family, plays a crucial role in neuronal development and survival by interacting with the p75 neurotrophin receptor. Upon binding of nerve growth factor (NGF) to p75NTR, NRAGE translocates to the plasma membrane, where NRAGE influences critical signaling pathways that regulate neuronal differentiation and apoptosis. This interaction is vital for proper functioning of sympathetic neuron precursor cells, as overexpression of NRAGE can lead to cell cycle arrest and promote NGF-dependent apoptosis, highlighting NRAGE′s importance in neuronal health and development. NRAGE is expressed in the medulla oblongata during development and in motor neurons, suggesting NRAGE′s significant role in the central nervous system. The structural similarities between NRAGE and other MAGE proteins, such as necdin, indicate that these proteins may share common mechanisms in mediating cell cycle effects, further emphasizing NRAGE′s importance in neurobiology and potential implications in neurodegenerative diseases.
