  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 201-239 within an internal region of NQO1 of human origin
  • Anti-NQO1 Antibody (H-9) is recommended for detection of NQO1 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA; also reactive with additional species, including porcine
  • Anti-NQO1 Antibody (H-9) is available conjugated to agarose for IP; HRP for WB, IHC(P) and ELISA; and to either phycoerythrin or FITC for IF, IHC(P) and FCM
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488, Alexa Fluor® 546, Alexa Fluor® 594 or Alexa Fluor® 647 for WB (RGB), IF, IHC(P) and FCM, and for use with RGB fluorescent imaging systems, such as iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 680 or Alexa Fluor® 790 for WB (NIR), IF and FCM; for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR®Odyssey®, iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems
  • m-IgG2b BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for NQO1 Antibody (H-9) for WB and IHC(P) applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with NQO1 Antibody (H-9) (see ordering information below).

NQO1 Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects NQO1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NQO1 (H-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NQO1, consisting of 274 amino acids, plays a crucial role in cellular defense by catalyzing the reduction of quinones to hydroquinones, thereby detoxifying harmful compounds and protecting cells from oxidative stress, cytotoxicity, and mutagenicity. This function is particularly important in cancer, as many tumors exhibit overexpression of NQO1, which serves as an obligate two-electron reductase that not only deactivates toxins but also activates bioreductive anticancer drugs. NQO1 gene expression is tightly regulated and can be induced by various stimuli, including xenobiotics, antioxidants, heavy metals, and radiation, with the antioxidant response element (ARE) in the promoter region being essential for this regulation. Key transcription factors such as Nrf2, c-Jun, and Maf proteins interact with the ARE to modulate NQO1 expression, highlighting the intricate network of cellular responses that govern NQO1′s activity and implications in cancer biology.

How do I use the blocking peptide sc-376023 P? Can I load it on a gel as a positive control?

Asked by: TinTin
The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. It is not recommended to be loaded on the gel as positive control as it is very small. For full protocol details on using the blocking peptide, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
