NORRIN Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects NORRIN protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NORRIN (B-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NORRIN protein, encoded by the NDP (Norrie disease protein) gene, is secreted and plays a crucial role in the Wnt/Frizzled signaling pathway, which is essential for vascular development. NORRIN protein induces the growth of ocular capillaries, and NORRIN dysfunction is linked to severe ocular disorders such as Norrie disease, characterized by congenital blindness, deafness, and mental retardation, as well as X-linked familial exudative vitreoretinopathy, which involves inadequate peripheral retinal vascularization. Mutations in the NDP gene can lead to these debilitating conditions, highlighting NORRIN′s significance in maintaining normal vascular function in the retina. Research suggests that pharmacological modulation of NORRIN may offer therapeutic avenues for addressing the vascular abnormalities associated with these diseases, making NORRIN a vital target for further investigation in ocular health and disease.
