NOPE Antibody (27L-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects NOPE in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NOPE, or neighbor of punc E11, is a 1250 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in embryonic development and cell adhesion, being a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily alongside other significant proteins like Deleted in Colorectal Cancer (DCC). NOPE is characterized by five fibronectin type-III repeats and four immunoglobulin-like C2-type repeats, which are essential for mediating cell-cell interactions and promoting cellular differentiation during embryogenesis. NOPE expression is particularly prominent in the notochord, skeletal muscle, and the ventricular zone of the nervous system during development, and remains present in the hippocampus of the adult brain, indicating potential involvement in neurodevelopmental processes and synaptic plasticity. NOPE′s unique structural features, especially its diverged cytoplasmic domain compared to its homolog Punc, suggest interactions with specific intracellular signaling pathways, further underscoring importance in both developmental biology and potential implications in neurological research. Anti-NOPE antibody (27L-2) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers exploring functional dynamics in various biological contexts.
