NOP17 Antibody (A-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NOP17 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NOP17 (A-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NOP17, also known as PIH1D1, is a phylogenetically conserved protein that plays a crucial role in processing pre-ribosomal RNA (pre-rRNA) by associating with specific small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs) during ribosomal biogenesis. These snoRNAs are integral components of ribonucleoprotein particles localized to the nucleolus, where they facilitate rRNA modification and maturation. NOP17 consists of 290 amino acids and is characterized by instability, which is mitigated through interaction with heat shock proteins HSP 90α and HSP 90β. NOP17 also interacts with the core box C/D snoRNP protein Nop58, highlighting an essential function in mediating nucleolar retention and proper assembly of box C/D snoRNP complexes. Mutations in NOP17 can result in a temperature-sensitive phenotype, leading to delocalization of critical NOP proteins necessary for snoRNP assembly, underscoring NOP17′s importance in maintaining ribosomal RNA processing and cellular homeostasis.
