NO66 Antibody (3354C5a) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects NO66 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). NO66, also known as nucleolar protein 66 kDa or C14orf169, is a 641 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the synthesis, processing, and assembly of ribosomal RNAs with ribosomal proteins, making NO66 essential for ribosome biogenesis and cellular function. NO66 is primarily localized to nucleoplasmic foci and the nucleolus, specifically within a granular region, which is vital for NO66′s function in the remodeling of heterochromatic regions and the synthesis of the large ribosomal subunit. The presence of one JmjC domain, two putative nuclear localization signals, and several potential phosphorylation sites in NO66 suggests NO66′s involvement in various regulatory processes within the cell. Immunohistochemical studies have shown that NO66 can localize to different subnuclear compartments depending on the cell line, indicating NO66′s dynamic role in cellular contexts. Furthermore, homologs of NO66 have been identified across various species, highlighting NO66′s evolutionary conservation and potential significance in cellular mechanisms. Importantly, NO66 has emerged as a novel therapeutic target oncogene in lung cancer, underscoring NO66′s relevance in cancer research and treatment strategies.
