NNT Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects NNT protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-NNT antibody (B-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Nicotinamide nucleotide transhydrogenase (NNT) is a crucial multi-pass mitochondrial inner membrane protein composed of 1086 amino acids, functioning as a homodimer. NNT plays a vital role in cellular respiration by catalyzing the transfer of a hydride ion from NADH to NADP+, effectively acting as a proton pump within the mitochondrial inner membrane. This process is essential for generating high concentrations of NADPH, which are critical for free radical detoxification and various biosynthetic pathways. The unique structure of NNT, with its N-terminal section belonging to the AlaDH/PNT family and its C-terminal section to the PNT beta subunit family, underscores its importance in maintaining cellular energy balance and redox homeostasis. By utilizing the energy from the proton gradient established by the electron transport chain, NNT supports metabolic processes and protects cells from oxidative stress, making NNT a significant target for research in mitochondrial function and related diseases.
