NMDAε1 Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects NMDAε1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NMDAε1 is a critical subunit of the NMDA receptor, which plays a pivotal role in synaptic plasticity and memory function in the central nervous system. This subunit contributes to the receptor′s unique properties, including voltage-dependent activation and high permeability to calcium ions, which are essential for various signaling pathways involved in neuronal communication and plasticity. The NMDA receptor, composed of multiple subunits including ε1, ε2, ε3, ε4, and the ζ subunit, is strategically located in the postsynaptic membrane of neurons, where NMDAε1 mediates excitatory neurotransmission. NMDAε1′s presence in the brainstem and limited distribution among the epsilon subunits highlight specialized functions in different neural circuits, making NMDAε1 a valuable target for studying neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders. Anti-NMDAε1 antibody (D-8) serves as an essential tool for researchers investigating the complex mechanisms of synaptic transmission and plasticity, as well as the pathophysiology of various neurological conditions.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-390094 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Are you sure lane A is rat tissue and lane B is mouse tissue? Seems mouse Grin2a should be a little bit bigger than rat Grin2A (see your SC-1468 grin2a antibody C17)

Asked by: roy x
Thank you for your inquiry. These lanes were not side by side in the physical gel, and when the image was cropped and set unfortunately the alignment was off slightly. The bands actually run at visually the same weight, and the image will be reuploaded to reflect this. The predicted weight for both mouse and rat NMDAe1 is 177 kDa, both are glycosylated and we would expect them to migrate at the same weight. We do not have Western Blot data with the goat polyclonal NMDAe1 antibody sc-1468 from a rat tissue sample.
