NKHC2 Antibody (E-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NKHC2 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NKHC2 (E-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Neuronal kinesin heavy chain 2 (NKHC2) is a 1,032 amino acid protein belonging to the kinesin superfamily, which is crucial for intracellular transport processes. NKHC2 is predominantly expressed in the central nervous system, particularly in specific subsets of neurons, where NKHC2 plays a vital role in the microtubule-dependent transport of neurofilament proteins. The unique C-terminal region of NKHC2, consisting of 69 amino acids, is essential for NKHC2′s interaction with dystrobrevin, an adaptor and scaffolding protein. This interaction facilitates the transport and localization of components of the dystrophin-associated protein complex to specific cellular sites, thereby influencing neuronal function and integrity. NKHC2 is also implicated in the slow axonal transport mechanisms that are critical for neuronal maturation, highlighting NKHC2′s importance in maintaining neuronal health and function.
