NKHC2 Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NKHC2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NKHC2 (A-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The neuronal kinesin heavy chain 2 (NKHC2) is a 1,032 amino acid protein belonging to the kinesin superfamily, which is crucial for intracellular transport processes. NKHC2 is predominantly expressed in the central nervous system, particularly in specific subsets of neurons, highlighting NKHC2′s importance in neuronal function and health. NKHC2 features a distinctive C-terminal region of 69 amino acids that is essential for interaction with dystrobrevin, an adaptor and scaffolding protein. This interaction may facilitate the transport and localization of components of the dystrophin-associated protein complex to specific cellular sites, thereby playing a vital role in maintaining the structural integrity and functionality of neurons. NKHC2 is implicated in the microtubule-dependent slow axonal transport of neurofilament proteins, which is critical during the maturation of neuronal cells, underscoring NKHC2′s importance in neurodevelopment and potential implications in neurodegenerative diseases.
