NKCC1 Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects NKCC1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NKCC1 (A-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NKCC1, a member of the solute carrier family 12, plays a crucial role in the transcellular movement of chloride ions across epithelial tissues, which is essential for maintaining fluid balance and electrolyte homeostasis in the body. NKCC1 is predominantly expressed in muscle cells, neurons, and red blood cells, where NKCC1 facilitates active chloride secretion in the basolateral membrane of secretory epithelia. The gene encoding human NKCC1 is located on chromosome 5q23.3, and NKCC1 disruption in mice has been linked to deafness and balance impairments, highlighting NKCC1′s importance in sensory functions. NKCC1′s interaction with other proteins, such as the Na-K-ATPase, underscores NKCC1′s role in ion transport and cellular signaling pathways, making NKCC1 a significant target for research in various physiological and pathological contexts.
