NIPSNAP1 Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NIPSNAP1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NIPSNAP1 (H-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NIPSNAP1, or 4-nitrophenylphosphatase domain and non-neuronal SNAP25-like 1, is a 228 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in modulating the activity of transient receptor potential (TRP) channels, particularly TRPV6, which is essential for calcium homeostasis in various tissues such as the pancreas and placenta. The inhibition of TRPV6 currents by NIPSNAP1 is significant because NIPSNAP1 regulates calcium entry across the plasma membrane, a process vital for numerous cellular functions, including muscle contraction, neurotransmitter release, and hormone secretion. NIPSNAP1 does not alter the membrane expression of TRPV6, indicating that NIPSNAP1′s inhibitory effect is mediated through a mechanism that does not involve reducing the number of channels on the cell surface. This unique regulatory function of NIPSNAP1 highlights NIPSNAP1′s importance in maintaining calcium balance and suggests potential implications in various physiological and pathological processes.
