NHP2 Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NHP2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NHP2 Antibody (H-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NHP2, also known as NOLA2, plays a crucial role in the formation of small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein complexes, which are essential for the modification of ribosomal RNA. Specifically, NHP2 is involved in the isomerization of uridine to pseudouridine, a modification that is vital for the stability and function of ribosomal RNA, thereby influencing protein synthesis within the cell. Proper functioning of NHP2 is critical, as disruptions in its activity can lead to various cellular dysfunctions and diseases, including Dyskeratosis congenita, a rare genetic disorder characterized by abnormal skin pigmentation, nail dystrophy, and oral leukoplakia.
