NGF Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgM kappa light chain antibody specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 118-146 at the N-terminus of mature nerve growth factor (NGF) of human origin. Anti-NGF antibody (B-4) detects both precursor and mature forms of human NGF by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NGF, also known as beta-nerve growth factor, is a secreted neurotrophin crucial for the survival, development, and maintenance of sympathetic and sensory neurons. Within the cell, NGF is synthesized as a precursor protein (proNGF) in the endoplasmic reticulum, processed in the Golgi apparatus, and then secreted into the extracellular space.
