SEE ALSO...

NF-M Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NF-M protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NF-M (E-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Neurofilament-M (NF-M), which stands for neurofilament medium polypeptide, is a crucial component of the neuronal cytoskeleton and belongs to the intermediate filament family. NF-M plays a vital role in maintaining the structural integrity of neurons, particularly in regulating axon caliber, which is essential for proper nerve signal conduction. NF-M undergoes various post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, which can significantly influence function and interactions with other proteins. These modifications are critical as they can alter the dynamics of neurofilament assembly and disassembly, impacting neuronal health and function. Dysregulation of NF-M phosphorylation is often associated with neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson′s disease, and Alzheimer′s disease, highlighting NF-M′s importance in both normal neuronal function and disease pathology.
