Neutrophil Elastase Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to recognize amino acids 211-267 of human Neutrophil Elastase (NE), also known as ELANE or medullasin. Anti-NE antibody (G-2) effectively detects NE through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), making this tool essential for various research settings. NE is a serine protease predominantly stored in azurophilic granules of neutrophils, where NE plays a critical role in degrading phagocytosed pathogens and remodeling the extracellular matrix during immune responses. Post-translational modifications of NE, including glycosylation, are crucial for proper folding, stability, and enzymatic activity, ensuring effective function without causing unintended tissue damage.
