netrin-1 Antibody (5H8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects netrin-1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). netrin-1 Antibody (5H8) is available as a non-conjugated anti-netrin-1 antibody. Netrin-1 is a crucial member of the netrin family, which consists of laminin-related secreted proteins that play a vital role in guiding axonal growth and cell migration during embryonic development. Netrin-1 is predominantly expressed in the developing nervous system and mesodermal tissues, where netrin-1 is secreted by the floor plate in both a cell-associated form and as a diffusible molecule. Netrin-1 interacts with several receptors, including deleted in colorectal cancer (DCC) and neogenin, to form a chemoattractant gradient that directs axonal migration towards the ventral midline of the spinal cord. Netrin-1′s role in neuronal pathfinding is essential for proper nervous system development. Additionally, netrin-1′s signaling is modulated by extracellular calcium levels and protein kinase A (PKA) activity, highlighting complex regulatory mechanisms. A decrease in PKA activity can switch the response of axonal cells from attraction to repulsion, demonstrating the dynamic nature of netrin signaling in guiding neuronal connections.
