NEDD4-L Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NEDD4-L protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-NEDD4-L antibody (C-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NEDD4-L, also known as neural precursor cell expressed, developmentally down-regulated 4-like, RSP5, NEDD4-2, or NEDL3, is a 975 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in cellular regulation by functioning as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase. NEDD4-L protein is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is characterized by the presence of four WW domains, one HECT domain, and one C2 domain, which are essential for interaction with ubiquitin and substrate proteins. NEDD4-L protein is expressed ubiquitously, with highest levels found in pancreas, prostate, and kidney, and regulates TGFβ signaling pathway by ubiquitinating key proteins such as Smad2 and TGFβ RII, leading to proteasome-dependent degradation. This regulatory function is vital for controlling cell growth and differentiation, making NEDD4-L protein an important player in various physiological processes. Additionally, NEDD4-L protein is expressed as eight isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to diverse functional roles in different tissues.
