Nectin 4 Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Nectin 4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Nectin 4 antibody (A-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Nectin 4, a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, plays a crucial role in cell adhesion, particularly at adherens junctions in epithelial and endothelial cells, where Nectin 4 contributes to structural integrity and signaling pathways essential for tissue organization and function. Nectin 4′s unique structure, characterized by three immunoglobulin-like domains, allows Nectin 4 to interact with other proteins, such as afadin, which links Nectin 4 to the actin cytoskeleton, thereby facilitating mechanical adhesion and cellular morphogenesis. Nectin 4 is predominantly expressed in the placenta, distinguishing Nectin 4 from other nectin family members that have broader tissue distribution. This specificity highlights Nectin 4′s potential importance in placental development and function, as well as relevance in various pathological conditions, including cancer, where altered expression of Nectin 4 may influence tumor progression and metastasis.
