Nebulette Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Nebulette protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Nebulette (G-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Nebulette protein plays a crucial role in the structural integrity of the Z-disc in striated muscle, where Nebulette is essential for the organization and stability of the sarcomere. Unlike its homolog nebulin, which spans the entire length of the thin filament, Nebulette is specifically localized to the Z-disc, where Nebulette interacts with alpha-actinin and contributes to the assembly of myofibrils during muscle development. This localization is vital for maintaining proper alignment and function of myofibrils, which are essential for muscle contraction. Additionally, a polymorphism in the actin-binding motif of Nebulette has been identified as a genetic marker associated with susceptibility to nonfamilial idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition characterized by a thin-walled heart and impaired systolic function, highlighting the importance of Nebulette in cardiac health.
