NDRG2 Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects NDRG2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NDRG2, also known as SYLD, is a 371 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in neuronal differentiation and outgrowth, localizing primarily in the cytoplasm and perinuclear region of neurons. NDRG2 expression is notably high in tissues such as the heart, brain, dendritic cells, salivary glands, and skeletal muscle, while lower levels are observed in the liver and kidney. NDRG2′s importance extends to potential tumor-suppressive functions, as NDRG2 expression is downregulated in various carcinomas, including liver and pancreatic cancers, as well as meningioma. Furthermore, NDRG2 has been implicated in the pathology of Alzheimer′s disease, being present in brain lesions of affected patients, which suggests a role in the disease′s progression. Notably, NDRG2 undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in five distinct isoforms, which may contribute to diverse functional roles in cellular processes.
