Ndn Antibody (36-V) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Ndn protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Ndn antibody (36-V) is available as the non-conjugated form. Ndn protein plays a crucial role in regulating neuronal growth and differentiation, particularly in post-mitotic neurons, which are essential for proper brain function. Located in the Prader-Willi syndrome deletion region on chromosome 15, Ndn protein contributes to the pathophysiology of Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS), a neurogenetic disorder characterized by feeding difficulties in infancy, temper outbursts, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, and sleep disturbances. Necdin expression is tightly regulated and restricted to post-mitotic neurons, where necdin suppresses excessive growth, maintaining neuronal integrity. Parental alleles of the Ndn gene exhibit a differential methylation profile, which is critical for expression and function. Reduced necdin levels have been linked to specific PWS symptoms, such as skin picking and enhanced spatial memory, highlighting necdin′s significance in neurodevelopmental processes.
