Ndfip1 Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Ndfip1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Ndfip1 (D-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Nedd4 family interacting protein-1 (Ndfip1), also known as N4WBP5, is a crucial Golgi-associated protein composed of 221 amino acids, featuring three transmembrane domains at its carboxy terminus and two proline-tyrosine (PY) motifs at its amino terminus. Ndfip1 plays a significant role in maintaining Golgi structure and function, which is vital for proper cellular trafficking and processing of proteins. Ndfip1 interacts with the WW domains of several HECT-type E3 ubiquitin ligases, including Itch, suggesting involvement in ubiquitination processes that may influence protein degradation and cellular signaling pathways. Notably, Ndfip1 is highly expressed in neurons surrounding injury sites, indicating a potential neuroprotective role, particularly in the context of T cell activation, where Ndfip1 expression can enhance the function of Itch. Mice deficient in Ndfip1 demonstrate severe skin and lung inflammation due to the inactivation of Itch and subsequent accumulation of JunB, leading to premature mortality. This highlights the importance of Ndfip1 in cellular homeostasis and potential implications in neuroprotection and immune responses.
