    SEE ALSO...

NCAM Antibody (MOC-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody designed to detect Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule (NCAM), also known as CD56 or NCAM1, which is a crucial cell surface glycoprotein involved in mediating cell-cell interactions essential for neural development and synaptic plasticity. Anti-NCAM antibody (MOC-1) recognizes NCAM proteins from both human and bovine origins and is effective in various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). NCAM undergoes significant post-translational modifications, such as glycosylation and polysialylation, which are vital for regulating adhesive properties and facilitating processes like cell migration, neural network formation, and synaptic stability. These modifications play a pivotal role in embryogenesis, neural development, and are implicated in the progression of certain cancers by modulating cell adhesion and signaling pathways. By targeting NCAM, researchers can investigate diverse isoforms and functional implications in both normal physiology and pathological conditions, including neuroectodermally derived tumors like neuroblastoma and medulloblastoma. NCAM monoclonal antibody (MOC-1) recognizes multiple isoforms of NCAM, ensuring comprehensive analysis of expression and modification status, providing valuable insights into cellular mechanisms and disease mechanisms. Additionally, NCAM (MOC-1) antibody facilitates the study of NCAM′s interactions and role in maintaining cellular architecture, making this reagent an indispensable tool for both basic research and clinical diagnostics. Whether utilized in studying neural development, cancer biology, or cell adhesion dynamics, anti-NCAM antibody (MOC-1) offers reliable and robust performance, enabling scientists to advance understanding of NCAM-related pathways and therapeutic targets.

How can NCAM (MOC-1): sc-51742 mouse monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-51742 PE) or fluoroscein (sc-51742 FITC).
