NCAM Antibody (ERIC 1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody targeting Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule (NCAM), also known as CD56 or NCAM1. Engineered to recognize NCAM of human origin, anti-NCAM antibody (ERIC 1) is ideal for applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM), while exhibiting no cross-reactivity with mouse NCAM. NCAM is a critical cell surface glycoprotein involved in mediating cell-cell interactions essential for neuronal development, including processes like embryogenesis, neural migration, and synaptic plasticity. These functions are vital for the proper formation and maintenance of the nervous system, underscoring NCAM′s importance in both developmental biology and neurobiology. Additionally, NCAM is expressed in various human tumors such as neuroblastomas, rhabdomyosarcomas, Wilms′ tumor, Ewing′s sarcoma, and certain myeloid malignancies, making NCAM a valuable biomarker for cancer research and diagnostics. NCAM (ERIC 1) monoclonal antibody recognizes multiple isoforms of NCAM generated through alternative splicing and polyadenylation of the single NCAM gene located on chromosome 11q23. Hi, I would like to know the epitope that was used to produce the sc-106 antibody. Is it extracellular or intracellular domain of NCAM? Thank you

Thank you for your question. The exact epitope recognized by this mouse monoclonal antibody has not yet been determined. This monoclonal antibody was raised against CD56 positive cells of human origin. It has been reported that this clone recognizes and extracellular epitope of human NCAM.
