SEE ALSO...

NARG1 Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NARG1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NARG1 Antibody (D-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NARG1 protein, also known as NMDA (N-methyl-d-aspartate) receptor-regulated gene 1, NATH (N-terminal acetyltransferase), TBDN100 (tubedown-1), or Ga19 (Gastric cancer antigen Ga19), is a cytoplasmic protein characterized by the presence of eight tetratricopeptide repeats (TPR). NARG1 plays a crucial role in cellular processes, particularly in acetylation regulation, as NARG1 interacts with ARD1 or ARD2 to form a complex that exhibits N-terminal (alpha) acetyltransferase activity. This activity is vital for cotranslational acetylation of ribosomal subunits, which is essential for proper protein synthesis and cellular function. NARG1 is highly expressed in rapidly dividing tissues such as bone marrow, testis, and embryonal brain, and NARG1 overexpression has been linked to papillary thyroid carcinomas. During apoptosis, both NARG1 and ARD1 are cleaved by caspases, leading to a decrease in acetyltransferase activity, which underscores NARG1′s importance in maintaining cell viability. NARG1 knockdown in HeLa cells has been shown to induce apoptosis, highlighting NARG1′s potential as a therapeutic target in cancer treatment.

Can NARG1 (D-7): sc-365931 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, NARG1 (D-7): sc-365931 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
