NAPRT Antibody (B-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects NAPRT protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-NAPRT antibody (B-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NAPRT, or nicotinate phosphoribosyltransferase, is a crucial enzyme consisting of 538 amino acids that plays a vital role in the biosynthesis of the cofactor NAD(+). NAPRT is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where NAPRT catalyzes the conversion of nicotinic acid to nicotinic acid mononucleotide, a key step in the NAD+ biosynthetic pathway. NAPRT maintains cellular NAD levels, which are essential for energy metabolism and the prevention of oxidative stress, thereby protecting cells from damage. NAPRT is expressed in three isoforms due to alternative splicing, and NAPRT gene is located on human chromosome 8, a region associated with various health conditions, including certain leukemias, lymphomas, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder.
