Na+ CP type IIIβ Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Na+ CP type IIIβ protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Na+ CP type IIIβ (C-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Na+ CP type IIIβ protein, a 215 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein, plays a crucial role in modulating sodium channel gating kinetics, which is essential for proper functioning of excitable cells. Na+ CP type IIIβ structure includes an extracellular N-terminal domain, a single membrane-spanning region, and a C-terminal cytoplasmic region, allowing effective interaction with voltage-gated sodium channels. Na+ CP type IIIβ is upregulated in response to DNA damage, highlighting potential role in cellular stress responses. In conjunction with Neurofascin, Na+ CP type IIIβ is involved in targeting sodium channels to nodes of Ranvier in developing axons and maintaining their presence in mature myelinated axons, which is vital for efficient nerve impulse conduction.
