SEE ALSO...

N-WASP Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects N-WASP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). N-WASP (C-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. N-WASP monoclonal antibody (C-1) is specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 18-49 near the N-terminus of N-WASP of human origin. N-WASP plays a crucial role in actin polymerization and cytoskeletal organization, which are essential processes for various cellular functions, including cell motility, shape maintenance, and intracellular transport. N-WASP is vital for the Cdc42-induced formation of filopodia, which are slender, actin-rich projections that extend from the cell surface and are involved in sensing the extracellular environment and facilitating cell movement. N-WASP interaction with the Arp2/3 complex is critical for enhancing actin polymerization, thereby promoting dynamic reorganization of the cytoskeleton. This dynamic reorganization is particularly important in neural tissues, where N-WASP is predominantly expressed, as N-WASP contributes to processes such as neurite outgrowth and synaptic plasticity. Understanding N-WASP function and regulatory mechanisms is essential for elucidating the underlying causes of conditions such as Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome, which is characterized by immunodeficiency and other systemic issues due to mutations affecting actin dynamics.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-271484 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
