SEE ALSO...

N-SMase Antibody (B-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects N-SMase protein of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). N-SMase monoclonal antibody (B-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. N-SMase protein plays a crucial role in sphingolipid metabolism, particularly in sphingomyelin hydrolysis to generate ceramide, a bioactive lipid functioning as a second messenger in numerous cellular signaling pathways. This process regulates key cellular functions such as apoptosis, differentiation, proliferation, and sterol homeostasis maintenance. Neutral sphingomyelinase activity responds to various physiological stimuli, including tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) and oxidized low-density lipoproteins, which can activate N-SMase and subsequently modulate these critical cellular processes. Understanding N-SMase function and sphingolipid signaling role helps elucidate mechanisms underlying various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders, making anti-N-SMase antibody (B-1) an invaluable research tool.
