Myozenin 2 Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Myozenin 2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Myozenin 2, also known as calsarcin-1, plays a crucial role in muscle physiology by acting as a key regulator of calcineurin signaling, which is essential for proper expression of slow fiber genes in skeletal muscle and hypertrophic response in cardiac muscle. Myozenin 2 is strategically located at the Z-line of the sarcomere, where Myozenin 2 binds calcineurin to α-actinin, thereby linking calcium signaling to muscle contraction and adaptation. Myozenin 2′s location facilitates the integration of calcium-dependent signaling pathways with structural components of muscle, ensuring muscle cells can respond appropriately to physiological demands. Myozenin 2 is specifically expressed in adult cardiac and slow-twitch skeletal muscle, highlighting specialized function in these tissues, while Myozenin 1 is predominantly found in fast skeletal muscle. With unique properties and critical role in muscle function, anti-Myozenin 2 antibody (B-4) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying muscle biology and related disorders.
