SEE ALSO...

Myotrophin Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Myotrophin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Myotrophin (D-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Myotrophin, also known as V-1 protein, is a cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and is involved in the differentiation of cerebellar neurons, particularly granule cells. This 117 amino acid protein is characterized by its acetylated N-terminus and contains two internal ankyrin repeats, which are important for protein-protein interactions and cellular localization. Myotrophin is notably upregulated in response to mechanical stress in myocytes, such as cyclic stretch, and during inflammatory responses mediated by cytokines like tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) and interleukin-1β. Expression is highest in the brain, indicating a significant role in neural development and function, while lower levels are found in skeletal muscle. Notably, Myotrophin has been associated with cardiac hypertrophy, as Myotrophin can induce the expression of protooncogenes and cardiac-specific genes, making this protein a key player in both normal physiological processes and pathological conditions.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-166072 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
