SEE ALSO...

Myosin X Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Myosin X protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Myosin X antibody (C-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Myosin X, also known as Myo10 or M10, plays a crucial role in cellular motility and is involved in processes such as phagocytosis, where Myosin X facilitates the movement of cellular components along filamentous actin. Myosin X is characterized by a unique structure, which includes three IQ motifs, a Myosin tail homology 4 (MyTH4) domain, a FERM (band 4.1/Ezrin/Radixin/Moesin) domain, three Pleckstrin homology domains that mediate phosphatidylinositol phospholipid signaling, and three PEST sites that may allow for the cleavage of the Myosin tail. This structural complexity enables Myosin X to bind to F-actin in an ATP-sensitive manner, thereby influencing the dynamics of actin filaments during cellular processes. In cultured cells, Myosin X localizes to the edges of lamellipodia, membrane ruffles, and the tips of filopodial actin bundles, highlighting Myosin X′s importance in cellular architecture and movement. The human Myosin X gene is located on chromosome 5p15.1-p14.3 and encodes a protein consisting of 2,058 amino acids, underscoring Myosin X′s significance in various physiological and pathological processes.

Can Myosin X (C-1): sc-166720 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, Myosin X (C-1): sc-166720 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
