myogenin Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that targets an epitope mapping between amino acids 174-205 near the C-terminus of human myogenin, with reactivity in mouse, rat, and human species. anti-myogenin antibody (G-3) is validated for use in western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Myogenin, also known as MYOG, is a critical member of the myogenic regulatory factor (MRF) family, which includes MyoD, Myf-5, and Myf-6 (MRF4 or herculin). Myogenin functions as a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor that regulates the expression of genes necessary for skeletal muscle differentiation and repair. Myogenin undergoes post-translational modifications such as phosphorylation, which can influence stability, DNA-binding capacity, and transcriptional activity. These modifications play a key role in fine-tuning myogenin function during muscle development, ensuring proper activation of target genes and coordination of the myogenic program. Myogenin is indispensable for terminal differentiation, as expression is upregulated during the final stages of myoblast fusion and muscle fiber formation. Dysregulation or altered post-translational modification of myogenin can lead to defects in muscle development or regeneration. myogenin antibody (G-3) is a valuable tool for investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying muscle differentiation and the regulatory pathways controlling myogenin activity.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398002 P appropriate for?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
