MYH7 Antibody (A4.951) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects myosin heavy chain 7 of mouse, rat, human, rabbit, and fish origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-MYH7 antibody (A4.951) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Myosin heavy chain 7 plays a crucial role in muscle contraction and is primarily found in cardiac and slow-twitch skeletal muscle, where MYH7 contributes to the generation of force and movement. The structure of myosin heavy chain 7 forms a heterohexamer with two heavy chains and two pairs of light chains, allowing for proper interaction with actin filaments. This structural arrangement enables muscle contraction efficiency and response to physiological demands. Mutations in the MYH7 gene have been linked to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a condition that can lead to serious heart complications, underscoring the significance of myosin heavy chain 7 in both health and disease.
