SEE ALSO...

MYH2 Antibody (A4.74) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to detect the MYH2 protein, also known as Myosin Heavy Chain IIa, in mouse, rat, human, and rabbit tissues. MYH2 is a vital component of the sarcomeric thick filaments within skeletal muscle cells, where MYH2 interacts directly with actin (ACTA1) to generate the force necessary for muscle contraction. Additionally, MYH2 interacts with key regulatory proteins such as tropomyosin and the troponin complex, which modulate MYH2 activity in response to calcium signaling, thereby ensuring precise control of muscle contraction and relaxation cycles. Anti-MYH2 antibody (A4.74) is recommended for use in western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), making anti-MYH2 antibody (A4.74) a versatile tool for various experimental applications. By targeting adult skeletal muscle myosin, MYH2 monoclonal antibody (A4.74) enables detailed analysis of myosin interactions and dynamics, facilitating research into muscle fiber composition, contractile mechanics, and muscle-related diseases. Anti-MYH2 antibody (A4.74)′s ability to accurately detect MYH2 across multiple species supports advanced studies in muscle physiology and pathology. Anti-MYH2 antibody (A4.74) is recommended for scientists investigating the molecular mechanisms that underpin muscle function and development.

Can you recommend a positive control to use with MYH2 (A4.74): sc-53095 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: jenni
We recommend RD (sc-364791) or L6 (sc-364196) whole cell lysates to use as positive controls as we have Western blot data showing specific detection of MYH2 in these cell lines.
