SEE ALSO...

MYBPC3 Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects MYBPC3 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MYBPC3, or myosin-binding protein C, cardiac, plays a crucial role in regulating cardiac muscle contraction by modulating myosin and actin filament interaction. MYBPC3 is primarily located in the crossbridge-bearing zone of A bands in vertebrate striated muscle, where MYBPC3 contributes to sarcomere structural integrity and function. Precise MYBPC3 localization ensures proper organization of contractile proteins for efficient muscle contraction. Regulatory phosphorylation of MYBPC3 by cAMP-dependent protein kinase upon adrenergic stimulation modulates cardiac contraction, highlighting MYBPC3′s role in responding to physiological demands. Mutations in MYBPC3 can lead to protein truncation, associated with familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy type 4, characterized by ventricular hypertrophy and potential heart failure. MYBPC3 gene is located on chromosome 11p11.2, making MYBPC3 a significant target for cardiac health and disease research.

I am using MYBPC3 (G-1): sc-137182 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Trav11
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
